Students Against destructive Decisions (SADD) is a national organization founded in 1981. It is a student-based organization dealing with underage drinking, impaired driving, drug use, violence associated with drug use, and other issues which affect teenager's lives.

Chenango Forks' SADD chapter has monthly meetings and planning sessions per event as needed. Students have a voice for responsible decision-making. SADD members want their school years fun, enjoyable and above all, safe.

We did a student seat belt check April 21, 2009. We had 62 or 21% of our students  not wearing their seat belts.  What is an accetable numer of children to come to school NOT wearing their seat belts?  How many students should be at risk coming to school?

Should we consider your friend, your brother or sister, your classmate or your child?

Do you wonder why students choose NOT to wear their seat belts?  If you or if you know someone that doesn't buckle up, please talk to them and tell them to wear their seatbelt. It's not just the law it saves lives.  We can do better!!!

ASSEMBLY-  The CF chapter of SADD presented an assembly for the 8th gradestudents titled "GETTING READY FOR HIGH SCHOOL."  Each SADD memberpresented ideas and staegies for succeeding in high school.  Topicslike: avoiding drugs and alcohol, being responsible with more freetime, the importance of joing clubs and/or participating in sports, making new friends, not being afraid to be yourself and of course theimportance of grades, getting help quickly.  Also, time and stressmanagement were emphasized.

It was a nice way to welcome the new 8th grade to the high school and we hope to see some new faces join SADD next year.
