The Chenango Forks Guidance Department is committed to providing support to the school community which enhances the educational experiences of its children, promotes success, and facilitates the development of fully functioning members of society.

We are committed to providing a comprehensive, developmental program that plays an integral role in the total learning experience for all students through the implementation of the National Standards for School Counseling Programs and the New York State Learning Standards. The program will take the developmental level of the child into consideration when designing interventions, prevention programs, and curriculum to promote growth.

The emphasis of the counseling program is on the total child and recognizes the cognitive, affective, social and physical dimensions of the individual. Students will benefit from a proactive school counseling program designed to promote personal-social, academic, and career development as set forth by the national standards for school counseling programs.
