English Language Arts
In this class, students will continue to develop as readers, writers, and thinkers through the study of literature and informational texts. We will read and analyze both fiction and non-fiction texts. We will engage in several forms of writing, including but not limited to, short responses, extended responses, creative writing and research. We will work to improve upon reading and writing skills and strategies using a variety of materials.
Expectations of the student:
Students will come to class prepared each a everyday
Students will raise their hand when they would like to speak or contribute to a class discussion
Students will always show respect for all members of the classroom community, in or outside of the classroom
Students will always try their hardest on each and every assignment
Student will remember that working quickly and working hard are two completely different concepts
Students will not be permitted to use electronic devices without permission from an adult in the classroom.
Students must arrive to class on time or they will be marked tardy
Students will follow all school rules as written in the student handbook at all times
Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort.
