# Math 7 Resources

### Scope and Sequence

This is a tentative schedule of our upcoming school year.  While we will be covering some material previously seen in 6th grade, we will further delve into each topic to prepare you for the NYS math test in the spring. Get ready for an exciting year!

Unit 1: Rational Numbers
• Apply previous understandings to add, subtract, multiply, and divide rational numbers
• Use properties of operations to generate equivalent expressions
• Solve real-life and mathematical problems using numerical and algebraic expressions and equations
Unit 2:
Ratios and Proportional Relationships
• Analyze proportional relationships and use them to solve real-world and mathematical problems
• Solve real-life and mathematical problems using numerical and algebraic expressions and equations
Unit 3:
Expressions and Equations
• Use properties of operations to generate equivalent expressions
• Solve real-life and mathematical problems using numerical and algebraic expressions and equations
Unit 4: Percent and Proportional Relationships
• Solve real-life and mathematical problems using numerical and algebraic expressions and equations
• Draw, construct, and describe geometrical figures and describe the relationships between them
Unit 5: Statistics and Probability
• Use random sampling to draw inferences about a population
• Draw informal comparative inferences about two populations
• Investigate chance processes and develop, use, and evaluate probability models
Practice: NYS Test Review
• Review skills learned in preparation for test
• Review various test taking strategies for multiple choice and short answer questions
Unit 6: Geometry
• Draw, construct, and describe geometrical figures and describe the relationships between them
• Solve real-life and mathematical problems involving angle measure, area, surface area, and volume
