College Entrance Exams:

SAT (SCHOLASTIC APTITUDE TEST):The SAT is given on several Saturday test dates throughout the year. The SAT is required for admission to certain colleges and universities. Most institutions will accept or prefer scores from junior year testing (spring and summer before senior year). A few schools require it to be taken in the senior year, no later than December. Some institutions requiring the SAT also require one or more achievement tests for admissions. Students should refer to each college's catalog for specific information about which tests are recommended.  SAT DATES

ACT (American College Test):The ACT is required for admission to some colleges and institutions including all state supported universities and some public community colleges in Illinois. Illinois high school students who want to compete for Illinois State Scholar Awards must take this test in their junior year. The ACT assessment format is comprised of four tests: English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science Reasoning. It will provide four test scores and a composite score plus two sub-scores in English and Reading and three sub-scores in Mathematics. For additional information, visit the guidance office.
