District wins National Music Award

We are thrilled to announce that the Chenango Forks Central School District has been named one of the 2021 Best Communities for Music Education by the
NAMM Foundation
, recognizing commitment and support to music education and the benefits it offers students. This distinction was awarded to 686 Districts across the country!

To qualify for the Best Communities designation, Chenango Forks staff answered detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program and community music-making programs. Responses were verified with school officials and reviewed by The Music Research Institute at the University of Kansas.
This year, the 2021 award celebrates and recognizes schools and districts for their music education contributions and innovations during these extraordinary times. Districts were asked to share their stories and experiences of teaching through COVID-19. We are Forks Strong, and our music students and staff have done an amazing job overcoming the challenges of the pandemic.
Thank you to all the administrators, teachers, students, parents and community members for your support of music education.
