Today, Jan. 11, 2021, New York State moved to phase 1B of the COVID-19 vaccine distribution. This phase includes all P-12 school district faculty or staff (includes all teachers, substitute teachers, student teachers, school administrators, paraprofessional staff and support staff including bus drivers). This also applies to contractors working in a P-12 school or school district, including contracted bus drivers.
As of 4 p.m. today, Jan. 11, the state is opening a COVID-19 vaccination hotline to help eligible New Yorkers make appointments: 1-833-697-4829. You can also visit the Broome County Health Department's website
to make an appointment.
Broome County has reported that it is experiencing a supply shortage, as the demand for the vaccine is greater than the supply the county is receiving. The county is continuing to work on plans to distribute the vaccine to those eligible and will keep the community informed on vaccine clinics and availability. For more information on the state’s COVID-19 vaccination plan, visit https://covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov.
We will update our website and social media platforms with any changes or announcements made by Broome County regarding the vaccine.
