A plan was approved for middle and high school students to return to school for four days of in-person instruction or full remote instruction at the March 11 Board of Education Meeting.
In the middle school, students in grades 7-8 will return for four days a week of in-person instruction on Monday, April 19. They will come to the building on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday each week. All full-remote students will Zoom into class on all four days as well. Wednesday will remain a full remote day for the district.
In the classrooms, we will use plastic barriers on desks since six feet of distance will not be possible in most rooms. Students will still be required to wear masks, except while they are seated during lunch and during scheduled mask breaks.
At the high school, grades 9-11 will also return for in-person instruction on April 19 with Wednesday as a fully remote day. Most classrooms can maintain the required six feet distancing of student desks. We will provide barriers where we cannot maintain the six feet of distancing.
High School staff would like to remind parents and students the commitment for remote or in-class learning is for the remainder of the school year. We would like to remind parents and students that teachers have office hours on Wednesday and are available at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for in-class or remote help during the remedial period.
Please check the district website and social media accounts for any updates.
