graphic of graduates tossing caps Stay safe during celebration season
Graduation season is a joyful time of year when teens are celebrating. Unfortunately, it's also a prime time for more underage drinking. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an estimated 20% of all accidents involving teens are alcohol-related, and about a third of those crashes happen during April, May and June. Learn about ways to talk to your teens about this important topic.

Lockdown Drill - Tuesday, March 27, 2018
At 1p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, the Chenango Forks Central School District conducted a lockdown drill. We practice safety drills throughout the year to give our students and staff the opportunity to practice what to do in the event of an actual emergency. Students and staff did an outstanding job following our emergency procedures. We are committed to ensuring the safety of our school community, and will continue to work on these and other safety initiatives. Please be assured that in the event of an actual emergency, we will communicate to parents/guardians through our text messaging service and website.
Chenango Forks CSD - Safe and Secure Campuses
All members of the public must report to and gain entry via the visitors' entrance. This includes guests, family and friends of staff and students and non-emergency first responders (police, etc.) We realize that this may be a small inconvenience for you but the safety and the lives of our students and our staff is a priority to this District. Our campuses are safe and secure facilities and violation of this procedure may result in discipline and/or revoked school visitation privileges.  Emergency first responders will be met by Administration at the closest entry available.

Parents: School Visitation and Safety
Chenango Forks CSD works diligently to protect the safety and security of students and staff. In an effort to limit unexpected visitors to our schools, we ask that you make an appointment in advance if you wish to meet with your child’s teacher(s).  While we encourage parent communication with teachers and staff, scheduling time in advance whenever possible will assist us in securing our buildings and will enable staff to manage their time more effectively.

Notice Regarding Social Media
Social media is a series of websites and applications designed to allow people to share content quickly, efficiently and in real-time. Most people today utilize social media to stay in touch, share information, ideas, personal messages, etc.  However, at times people share information and it becomes misconstrued, and it spirals out of context and becomes alarming!  In an effort to ensure posting accurate information, please feel free to contact the Chenango Forks District Office at 607-648-7543 if you have any questions or concerns.  The safety of our schools and community are always a priority.
