Winter Sports: Varsity & JV sports kicked off this week. Our Girls Basketball Team got the season started with their first practice tipping off at 12:01 am! Athlete of the Week: Senior Captains Delaney Wood, Anna Ginalski, and Alyx Clutz have helped lead our team to the NYS Final 4 for Girls Soccer. The three have not only demonstrated hard work and excellence on the field, but also leadership skills in navigating our young team.
Modified Weekly Recap (11/3-11/8): Our football team finished their season with a win @ Ithaca, 30-6. Our soccer team finished their season with a tie vs. Norwich, 2-2. Goals were scored by Hunter & Andrii. On 10/30, our swimming team finished their season with the STAC Invitational. We had multiple athletes finish in the top 8 for their races (Rachel, Miriam, Sophia, Payton, Fiona, Arabella, Abbey, Hannah, Ava). Nice job teams! Let's Go Forks Nation!
Girls Swimming: Competed in the Class C Sectional Finals on Saturday and placed 5th overall as a team. Lindsey placed 2nd in 200IM & 100 Backstroke; Avery placed 2nd in 100 freestyle & 5th in 50 freestyle; Layla placed 8th in 100 butterfly; Abbey placed 8th in 100 breaststroke; the 200 freestyle relay (Lindsey, Karistah, Fiona & Avery) placed 2nd. There were personal best times from Charlotte (500 freestyle), Lindsey (200 IM), Fiona (50 freestyle), Alexis (100 back), Marcella (50 free) & the 200 free relay of Lindsey, Karistah, Fiona and Avery. Great job team!
Athlete of the Week: Senior Tennis player Reaghan Hughes went 10-3 this season and totaled 47 wins over her varsity career. She is a two-year captain of our varsity team. Reaghan is a great role model for all players; consistently displaying sportsmanship and good character both on and off the court. Reaghan is also a key contributor to our Varsity Girls Basketball and Lacrosse teams.
Varsity Swim: Competed in the Class C Sectional Prelims on Wednesday night. 24 swimmers had personal best times and 13 swimmers (Avery, Lindsey, Layla, Alexis, Charlotte, Adrianna, Jillian, Karistah, Fiona, Marcella, Abby, Abbey & Emma) will be returning for the finals on Saturday!
