Students in Fara Shoudy's Family and Consumer Sciences Class were busy cooking on Friday during a food lab! Seventh graders made Baked Meaty Ziti and eighth graders baked homemade pop tarts.

It marked the first time in 18 months that some students ever cooked in the classroom kitchen. And for some eighth graders, it was their first time in the middle school due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The food labs teach students many skills including math, reading problem solving, measuring, science, communication, time management, direction-following and collaboration. The final products looked delicious!
