Middle School Students compete in 'Chopped' competition

Fara Shoudy’s eighth-grade FACS students had the opportunity to get creative with their very own Chopped competition! They were given four ingredients that needed to be included in their recipe, but they could make whatever they wanted with those ingredients. They had a little planning time with their lab group to produce a concept, list of tools and equipment and an overall plan of how they’d execute it in a 40-minute period.

Students prepared, baked, presented, AND ate their tasty treats all in one period! Other eighth-grade teachers served as judges. The students were given a lesson on garnishing their plate and it surely paid off. Their dishes all looked and tasted spectacular! For more photos from the competition, visit our Facebook page.
