7th Graders Learn About Christmas Tree Farming

The 7th grade Agriculture classes visited Chalker Creek Farms in Chenango Forks to learn about Christmas Tree farming. They learned about how they are grown, how long it takes to get a tree large enough to cut, how they are maintained and what they have to be protected from. While there, they also learned about apiary maintenance, growing meat chickens, and more ways to live off the land and be a sustainable community member. They also learned about the business side of being in agriculture. A huge thank you goes out to the Licata Family for hosting us!
