CHENANGO FORKS, N.Y. — In a momentous event, Chenango Forks Central School District and New Energy New York (NENY) cut the ribbon for Broome-Tioga BOCES New Energy Lab. 

The lab is a collaborative endeavor between NENY, Broome-Tioga BOCES, and housed at Chenango Forks Central School District. It marks a significant milestone in advancing career and technical education for high school students with a focus on the rapidly growing energy sector.

The grand opening event included guest speakers, including Nobel Prize in Chemistry Recipient and Co-Creator of the Ion Lithium Battery, Stan Wittingham, who also toured the facility and met with some of the program's current students.

As the second of its kind in the nation, this cutting-edge lab is designed to empower students with a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies within the energy industry. Through a dynamic curriculum and hands-on learning experiences, students delve into electronic theory, battery fundamentals, power converters, solar technologies, and more.
