On Monday, November 3, the Chenango Forks Central School District proudly hosted the Southern Tier Concert Band for an incredible performance celebrating music, community and collaboration.

The Southern Tier Concert Band is composed of many of the region’s finest musicians, including professionals and music educators who perform and teach both privately and in public schools across the area. Among its current members are Chenango Forks teachers Drew Allport and Mitchell Tellerday, both of whom perform regularly with the ensemble.

Two Chenango Forks High School band students also had the honor of performing with the group for the first two selections of the evening: Jaxon Krupp, performing in the percussion section, and Aaron Oshrin, playing trombone. Both students volunteered their time to rehearse and perform alongside the group, even attending a full rehearsal the week prior. Their dedication, enthusiasm, and musicianship made the Forks community proud.

The concert, titled “Band-Width,” showcased a wide range of musical styles, eras, and emotions, and featured guest conductor Robin Linaberry. Mr. Linaberry, who taught music at Maine-Endwell High School for 35 years, is known for his deep commitment to music education and community enrichment.

Chenango Forks Superintendent Tom Burkhardt shared, “I had the privilege of working closely with Mr. Linaberry for about a dozen of those years, and his character, kindness, and commitment to bettering the community through music have always stood out.”

The district extends its gratitude to the Southern Tier Concert Band for providing this incredible opportunity to our students and for bringing such a memorable performance to our community.
