Mrs. Johnson's Class

In a dedicated effort to cultivate character and community involvement, students at CFE are immersing themselves in "The 7 Habits of Happy Kids" by Sean Covey. This program encourages youngsters to embrace values like responsibility, planning ahead, respect for others, teamwork, and balance.

To put these principles into action, the students decided to embark on a collaborative venture. Their initiative aims to benefit CFE, specifically the upcoming Fall Festival event - a significant occasion for the school. The event is hosted by the dedicated Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), with the goal of raising funds for over 500 students at the school. The proceeds will go towards enriching activities, including support for trips to The Tri-Cities Opera, school carnivals, and 5th-grade graduation ceremonies.

The underlying objective of this project is to instill a sense of service and community engagement among the students. Students were asked to write letters asking each business to donate goods for the festival.

Local businesses have also shown their support for this noble cause, generously contributing various items to make the Fall Festival a success. The contributions include fall-themed basket items from Lowes, plush toys and passes to Jungle Bells from Animal Adventure, a gift card from Synergy Athletics, gift certificates and artwork from Rebecca Whitman Artist, a generous $100 donation from Williams Auto Group of Binghamton to assemble several baskets, a movie-themed basket from Weis, and a monetary donation from Sante' Women's Healthcare. Support from Broome Family Nurse Practitioners, as well as Driven Automotive with monetary contributions to further boost the event's success.

This inspiring collaboration between CFE students and local businesses is not only a testament to the power of education but also a heartwarming example of a community coming together to support its youngest members and ensure their bright future.
