Students from Chenango Forks Middle and High School competed in the 13th Annual Southern Tier Robotics Competition held at Broome Community College this past week.

The competition challenged students to create custom-built robots capable of completing various “real” life tasks facing “real” life robots! Students honed their mechanical engineering skills to create frames, drivetrains, and lifting mechanisms.

Electrical engineering, coding, and computer science skills were integral to create the seamless interaction of sensors, microcontrollers, and electric motors. All of the students worked very hard on their robots, and it showed in their performance!

Highlights include a First-place finish by Hayden Hills, Kris Neudel, and Jack Rullo in the Large Swept Away Challenge. First-Place finish by Maya Padmanabhan in the Autonomous Sills Challenge. 1st place finish by Abby Beacher in the Maze Challenge, and a 3rd place finish by Samual Scofield  in the 2 lb. King of the Ring challenge.
