Chenango Forks graduate Vincent Lewis ’25, now a Broome County corrections officer, was recently recognized for his quick actions in saving the life of an inmate while on duty. For his response, Lewis received a commendation from the Broome County Sheriff’s Office under Sheriff Akshar.
While a student at Chenango Forks, Lewis participated in the district’s work-based learning program and received mentorship from School Resource Officer Chris Connors. Connors said Lewis was extremely prepared to handle the situation, relying on his attentiveness and the skills gained through training.
