As we begin a new calendar year, I’d like to wish all of the Chenango Forks Community a happy New Year! This is a busy month where we will focus on important academic milestones, and continued progress on district projects that support our students, staff, and community. I would like to share a few highlights as we move into the heart of winter.
January’s focus in our Character Education Program is “Put First Things First”. This habit encourages students to prioritize what matters most, manage their time effectively, and take responsibility for their choices. As we enter a busy stretch of the school year, this habit reinforces skills that support academic success, personal growth, and lifelong leadership. We appreciate our families partnering with us in reinforcing these habits at home.
We are excited to share that our pool project has entered its final stages. Crews are currently finalizing fixtures and tile work, while the district continues working closely with contractors and inspectors to complete certification requirements. Our goal is to be ready to open the facility promptly upon completion this winter, providing students and the community with a modern, safe, and high-quality aquatic space. We look forward to celebrating the opening of this space with our community.
January also marks the conclusion of the first academic semester. This is an important checkpoint for students to reflect on their progress, celebrate successes, and set goals for the months ahead. We are proud of the hard work and dedication shown by our students and grateful for the commitment of our faculty and staff who support learning every day.
As always, thank you for your continued support of the Chenango Forks Central School District. Together, we are building a strong foundation for our students and a bright future for our community.
Warm regards,
Tom Burkhardt, Superintendent
