Chenango Forks named one of the Best Communities for Music Education

We are thrilled to announce that the Chenango Forks Central School District has once again been named one of the Best Communities for Music Education (BCME) by the NAMM Foundation, recognizing commitment and support to music education and the benefits it offers students. This is Chenango Forks’ second year in a row winning the award.

Now in its 23rd year, the 2022 Best Communities for Music Education program has recognized 738 school districts and 80 schools across 44 states.

To qualify for the BCME designation, we answered detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program and community music-making programs. Responses were verified with school officials and reviewed by The Music Research Institute at the University of Kansas.

The Best Communities for Music Education (BCME) Award is a signature program of The NAMM Foundation that recognizes and celebrates school districts and schools for their support and commitment to music education and efforts to assure access to music for all students as part of a well-rounded education. Thank you to all the administrators, teachers, students, parents and community members for your support of music education.
