BLACK HISTORY MONTH: Students in Mrs. Dvorsky's class learned about poet, Amanda Gorman during speech/language sessions for Black History Month. Students made personal connections to her, as they learned that she had difficulty with articulation of /r/ sounds throughout her life, one of the most common goals her students have! They read biographic information on her, watched videos of her performing her poem “The Hill We Climb” at the 2021 Presidential Inauguration, and read her picture book “Change Sings”. Students made their own murals for change after reading the book. I attached some pictures that I captured during some sessions!
