SCHOOLHOUSE: Our first-grade students had the opportunity to learn a piece of local history, just steps away from their classroom! The Chenango Schoolhouse Museum is located on our property just outside CFE. Our students learned about artifacts and what it was like to live in early America. They had great questions and got to try some fun activities!

HAPPY RETIREMENT: Yesterday we bid farewell to one of our cafeteria staff, Mrs. Betty Gincerowski! Betty started her career with #ForkNation 36 years ago at the Charlotte Kenyon. Since then, her journey has led her to hold a plethora of positions though all of our school buildings. We will miss her dearly but wish her the very best in her retirement!

MATH COLLABORATIVE: Today CFE hosted another session with the Southern Tier Math Collaborative which is co-designed and co-facilitated by Dr. Lara Imm in partnership with the NYS Master Teacher Program, Southern Tier!

RISE AND SHINE: Thank you to Mrs. Malejs for leading our Rise and Shine assemblies this week. Mrs. Malejs talked to students about how they can help students who are bullied. She reminded them that they can speak up, ask others to help, and tell an adult. Congratulations to our shout outs this week!


REMINDER: January 26 will be a 1/2 day. The MS/HS will dismiss at 11am and CFE will dismiss at Noon.


ENGINEERS WEEK: Community Day is back for Engineers Week at Binghamton University / Watson College! The event will be held at the Innovative Technologies Complex (85 Murray Hill Road in Vestal) on Saturday, Feb. 24.
There will be two sessions limited to 150 children each: 9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. And this year, we have a brand-new high school track! Our high school track is limited to 15 students each: 9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Student groups have more than two dozen super-fun, STEM-related activities planned, along with a panel of current students that will guide you through a day in the life of an engineering/computer science student. MENTAL HEALTH TRAINING: Chenango Forks is proud to be the first school district in Broome County to offer mental health training for teens and adults through Madison County Rural Health Council. FIRE SAFETY: Our 4th graders had the opportunity to visit The Chenango Bridge Fire Company and had an incredible time learning about fire, rescue, and emergency medical first response. There they deepened their understanding of emergency services and the crucial role they play in keeping our community safe.
