This week, several special after-school trainings were held for students selected as Middle School Study Hall Leaders. This new leadership opportunity was created to help students sharpen their leadership skills while also serving as a resource for their classmates.

Students were selected for each study hall in grades 6-8. During their study halls, these students will lead by providing homework help and other support, guiding classmates who may need additional assistance in finding information on assignments and proper resources, modeling kindness, as well as demonstrating positive behavior.

The Chenango Forks Middle School Health Club recently participated in the New York Agriculture in the Classroom Mac & Cheese Challenge. This fun, cross-curricular competition allows students to create their own macaroni and cheese recipes, develop marketing materials, and learn about the dairy processing industry in their community, while reinforcing concepts in math, science, and ELA, and exploring careers in our food system.

Our middle school teams created some incredible dishes, including Dill Pickle Mac & Cheese, Cheesy Cake of Comfort, and Taco Mac & Cheese.

These students did a wonderful job, and we’re excited to see the winners announced later this month!
