END THE STEREOTYPES: Today, Chenango Forks CSD celebrates World Down Syndrome Day. According to the organization, Down Syndrome Intenational, this year's theme is #EndTheSteryotypes.
World Down Syndrome International on Stereotypes:
"A stereotype is a set idea that people have about what someone or something is like. Stereotypes can be positive, negative or neutral, but they are often inaccurate, or simply wrong! Stereotypes are often based on limited information or personal experience. They can be reinforced by the way something is represented in the media or by cultural messages. SCIENCE FAIR: Some of our own students presented science fair projects at the Southern Tier Scholastic Science Fair at SUNY Broome on Saturday. Jillian Howell, Maisey Carnegie, Layla Laine, and Arabella Laine were all participants and did a phenomenal job presenting their original research projects!

PI DAY: Happy Pi Day to everyone! Today is March 14, which makes the date 3.14 just like the first numbers in Pi!
SOLAR ECLIPSE 2024: Due to the Solar Eclipse on April 8th, we will be on a modified schedule. The MS/HS will dismiss at 11:30am and CFE will dismiss at 12:30pm. This is a once or twice in a lifetime event and a great educational opportunity for students. The main viewing timeframe for the eclipse is during our normal dismissal, therefore we determined it would be best to modify our day to ensure that students are home safely with family prior to the event.
VEX IQ: On Saturday the Middle School Technology and Engineering Club members Maya Padmanabhan and Logan Morgan attended the Northern NYS State VEX IQ Robotics Championships. In their first year competing, they finished 17th overall. One of the highlights of the day was the team was given the opportunity to control the famous Boston Dynamics robot dog, Spot!
