PURPLE UP!: Military members and military-connected families make many sacrifices for the security and safety of our nation, specifically military-connected children during their K-12 careers. April is designated as the Month of the Military Child or Purple Up! For Military Kids. Across the nation, states and school districts will celebrate the important role military children play while their service member parents serve our country through special events and wearing the color purple.

FRUIT OF THEIR LABOR: The middle school Agriculture Class had the opportunity to 'taste the fruit of their labor' today. The class recently boiled sap from surrounding trees down to 3 quarts of syrup. What better way to celebrate than to put it on some pancakes!

SOLAR ECLIPSE: Students throughout the district participated in lessons about the solar eclipse. Mrs. Shoudy's class made food models of the process, Mrs. Giovenco's class created paper diagrams, and Mrs. Laine's College Astronomy Class went to Sampson State Park for a viewing!

LOCKHEED MARTIN: Our 8th graders had a unique opportunity to attend Engineering Day at Lockheed Martin. The day was spent learning about science, technology, engineering, and math. Students were able to get involved in several hands-on projects and tour stops. They met with many engineers who shared their experiences and enthusiasm about the future of engineering!
