8th grade students had the opportunity to attend SPARK 2026 at SUNY Broome Community College on Wednesday, Jan. 21. SPARK is a fun, interactive event where students explored a variety of career options within industries such as Healthcare, STEM, Trades/Warehousing, Business and Humanities. Students engaged in hands on activities and learned about various career options with representatives from Broome-Tioga BOCES , SUNY Broome and area businesses. The goal for the event was to explore various careers to see what might SPARK your interest!

The CFMS Health Club recently held its annual holiday party. Students brought a gift to participate in a White Elephant gift exchange and enjoyed food and music while celebrating the holiday season together.
CFMS students had blast enjoying their annual holiday carnival prior to the start of the winter recess. Students played carnival style games and won prizes during this fun afternoon celebration. A special thank you to all who helped plan and organize this year's event.

We’re excited to share that one of their teams received word last week that they placed third overall in the middle school division of the New York Agriculture in the Classroom Mac & Cheese Challenge. The team of Arianna Hepler, Grace Seales, Becca Yahner and Michaela Wood earned the honor with their creative Dill Pickle Mac & Cheese recipe!
The CFMS Health Club team will receive a cash prize along with the recognition for this outstanding achievement. Pictured are the team members, their marketing materials and their winning recipe.

This week, the Chenango Forks Music Department put on a fantastic Winter Chorus Concert! Students from our middle and high schools performed a variety of pieces, many featuring talented soloists. The concert concluded with a finale performance featuring all of the students singing together. Thank you to our music educators for a wonderful evening of music, and great job to all of our performers!

The Chenango Forks Middle School Health Club recently participated in the New York Agriculture in the Classroom Mac & Cheese Challenge. This fun, cross-curricular competition allows students to create their own macaroni and cheese recipes, develop marketing materials, and learn about the dairy processing industry in their community, while reinforcing concepts in math, science, and ELA, and exploring careers in our food system.
Our middle school teams created some incredible dishes, including Dill Pickle Mac & Cheese, Cheesy Cake of Comfort, and Taco Mac & Cheese.
These students did a wonderful job, and we’re excited to see the winners announced later this month!

Upon invitation of Senator Webb, several Chenango Forks Middle and Elementary School students participated in the New York State Senate’s Thanksgiving Day Celebration Program.
This year’s theme was “What are you thankful for?” Students were invited to submit an original poem, short essay, or artwork that expresses what qualities they have that they are thankful for.

We’ve made some new additions to our FORKS Wall in the SAA at Chenango Forks Middle School! This month, students are focusing on Believing - believing in themselves, their abilities, and in others.
We’re proud to recognize our CFMS students who have been attendance stars for the first 14 weeks of school! These students have shown outstanding commitment by being absent two days or fewer since the start of the school year.
On Wednesday, Chenango Forks kicked off the winter concert season with an evening of incredible music. The performance featured our sixth grade band, seventh and eighth grade band, and our high school band.

On Monday, Dec. 8, Chenango Forks Middle School seventh grade students attended a performance of "A Christmas Carol" at The Cider Mill Playhouse in Endicott. This is a time-honored tradition at Chenango Forks Middle School, as students read this story in their English class. Admission was free, as it was funded by Arts in Education.
After seeing this year's performance, our students provided feedback on their experience:
"I liked the play because the timing was perfect between scenes and the characters were energetic."
"The acting was intense. It made me feel like I was part of the play. The actors were dressed to fit the roles, so I could tell who they were."
"It was a fun experience – the props and effects were awesome. The humor was as good as actual comedians!"
"There were good seats and interactions with the crowd! There was always a lot happening, and I liked the jump scares!"
"I liked when the third spirit came out! It was funny when he danced during the singing and when he waved through the window at the end!"
"Dear Performers: I enjoyed the fantastic performance of "A Christmas Carol". I liked the accuracy, the energetic performers, and the piano music. I would like to thank Scrooge, The Cratchits, and all the amazing performers."
