This week, our 7th grade students had a great opportunity to work with Professors Alison and Dan Brennan (BCC), who helped them extract DNA from bananas and taught us about forensic science! They are the first of several parents coming in this spring to present about their STEAM-field careers to try to get more students interested in these jobs down the road!





HAPPY SCHOOL LIBRARIAN'S DAY! Chenango Forks Elementary's Mrs. Slater says her favorite book in the library is 'Matilda' by Roald Dahl. Chenango Forks High and Middle School's Ms. Seaver says her favorite book in the library is 'The Inheritance Games' by Jennifer Lynn Barnes!


Senora Gregrow's classes hosted a fashion show today! Students were able to show off their cool clothes as well as their Spanish-speaking skills!

The Balloon Powered Car Race is an annual tradition in 8th grade Physical Science. Students are challenged to use their learning about Forces and Motion to design a car powered only by a balloon. The goal is to have the car that can travel the farthest. This year's greatest distance was achieved by Lizzy Price with a distance of 11.1 meters.





THE BOOK FAIR IS BACK: The Scholastic Book Fair is starting on Monday! we're excited to announce that the library will be open all day, except 6th period, from Monday through at least Thursday!

Congratulations to our CFMS 2023 Dodgeball Tournament Champions - The Giga Chads! Thank you to all of our students and staff that made this an enjoyable event.



The 8th grade Agriculture class took a field trip to Sugar Creek Maple Farm this week! The students were able to see what full scale maple production looks like, from a vacuum pressure tapping system, the sugar house where the sap is boiled, to the process of finishing the syrup and what products can be made from it. They also got to taste the different grades of syrup and maple candy! The classes will be boiling the sap they are collecting back in March to make their own syrup from trees right here at Chenango Forks!



Congratulations to our Middle School Students of the Month for February!




The 8th grade Agriculture class has been busy collecting sap for making Maple Syrup. They have tapped trees on campus and learned the history of maple syrup production. They will be taking a field trip in March to Sugar Creek Maple Farms to learn the process of turning the sap into syrup.




We think some local senior citizens got confused and went back to school today...oh wait, those are our Second Graders celebrating 100 Days of School!

The Chenango Forks Middle School Science Olympiad team competed in the Regional Competition over the weekend at Maine-Endwell. The team placed 3rd overall. Every student medaled in their events. The team members who competed were: Gabby Barry, Aidan Link, Abby May, Jillian Howell, Caroline Nower, Fiona Brennan, Alexis Monnin, Anna Nottingham, Lucas Taylor, Sophia Zappia, Calliope Brennan, Eli Oshrin, and Layla Laine!
