Last week, the CFMS Health Club held their Party Night, which is their biggest fundraiser of the year! They had an amazing turnout, and the kids had an absolute blast playing cornhole, shooting hoops, dancing, and, of course, stocking up on candy!

Congratulations to the Chenango Forks students accepted into the BCMEA All County Chorus grades 7-9! Patty Su, Logan Kuss, Eli Oshrin, Joseph Rullo, and Sam Scofield.
On Saturday, Feb. 8 students from the CFMS Robotics Club attended a tournament at Liverpool MS.
The team of Maya Padmanabhan, Logan Morgan and Jackson James took third place in robot skills and fifth place in the teamwork challenges. These results plus judging of their design notebook and an interview earned them the “Robot Design Award”.
The team of Khudair Al-Shimary, Lily Astrologo and Dakota Andrus placed third in the teamwork challenge and sixth in robot skills. With these results, a review of their design notebook and an interview, they received the “Innovate Award”.
Both teams now advance to the NNY Regional Championship in Syracuse this March, in hopes of qualifying for the VEX IQ World Championship.

Recently the Middle School Agriculture class was visited by Kieran Ward from Farm to School AmeriCorps. He taught the students about the importance of protein and antioxidants in their food choices. The students then made protein packed yogurt parfaits. It was a fun and delicious way to learn about nutrition.

Our Middle School Ag students recently visited our elementary students to share stories they have been writing. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students of different ages to connect and share their writing and creativity with each other.
CFMS Health Club recently participated in Senator Lea Webb's 2nd Annual Valentine's Cards for Seniors Drive. Students created handmade Valentine’s cards for nursing home and adult care residents in the Southern Tier, which will be distributed by Senator Webb's office. This project is a wonderful way for students to connect and spread joy to seniors in our community.

8th grade students had the opportunity to attend SPARK at SUNY Broome Community College today. SPARK is a fun, interactive event where students explored a variety of career options within industries such as Healthcare, STEM, Trades/Warehousing, Business and Humanities. Students engaged in hands on activities and learned about various career options with representatives from Broome-Tioga BOCES, SUNY Broome and area businesses. The goal for the event was to explore various careers to see what might SPARK your interest!

Our MS students filled the air with music and cheer to kick off the last day of school before Winter Break!
The middle school bands and choruses delivered fantastic performances with selections from their winter concert, while our French and Spanish classes sang holiday songs in the languages they've been studying.
CFMS Health Club members had a blast at their holiday party! They enjoyed food, which included a fresh salad made using greens from their grow tower and ended the party with an exciting white elephant gift exchange!
Students in Mrs. Shoudy and Mrs. Paludi's MS Health Club have been putting their green thumbs to work! Their grow tower is flourishing with a variety of greens and herbs, and for their holiday party they turned their harvest into a delicious, fresh salad, complete with a homemade dressing!
