The Chenango Forks High School physics classes and math club traveled to Hershey Park on Friday, May 8 for STEM day. The students performed mathematical calculations of various physics concepts on the rollercoasters and other rides in the park. They learned about forces, accelerations, and energies of the attractions and had a sweet time!!

Recently, Mrs. Sickler’s first grade class created imaginative monster drawings inspired by "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak. Their creativity was then brought to life by Mrs. Doolittle’s high school sculpture students, who transformed the drawings into amazing 3D creations!
This has become a favorite project for everyone involved and we love seeing our high school students collaborate with our elementary students!

David Chickanosky, retired Chenango Forks Biology teacher and football coach, returned to Chenango Forks High School recently to teach the Envirothon team how to identify skulls for their county and regional competition. Students learned how to tell by the eye placement if the skull was from a predator or prey and what they ate by their teeth. Mr. Chickanosky previously donated the skulls to the Chenango Forks Science Department from his own collection.

The Chenango Forks Envirothon Phintastic Phish, Tree Huggers, and Rockin Robins competed in the County and Regional NYS Envirothon Competition. Students tested their knowledge in areas of aquatics, forestry, soils, wildlife, and a current issue at the Owego Sportsman's Club.

On Wednesday, Chenango Forks High School students had the opportunity to focus on their physical and mental well-being, while interacting with local community organizations during the High School Health Fair.
Students were encouraged to engage in conversation with the community guests, giving them an opportunity to learn about resources available in our community, while gaining knowledge on how they can support their own well-being, as well as those around them.
Thank you to all of the local organizations who participated in the event.

This week students from Chenango Forks Middle and High school competed in the 15th Annual Southern Tier Robotics Competition held at SUNY Broome. The competition challenged students to create custom built robots capable of completing various “real” life tasks facing “real” life robots!
Students honed their mechanical engineering skills to create frames, drivetrains, and lifting mechanisms. Electrical engineering, coding, and computer science skills were integral to create the seamless interaction of sensors, microcontrollers, and electric motors.
All of the students worked very hard on their robots, and it showed in their performance and results with a winning 2nd Place Overall Competition for Both Middle and High School Teams!
Individual Accolades:
1st Place Large Swept Away: Hayden Hills
2nd Place Large Swept Away: Nick Applegate
