Alanna Tompkins and Angelina Schultz, CF Class of 2024 graduates, recently visited our Spanish classes to share their incredible experiences studying in San Pedro, Guatemala! They spent a month living with a host family, immersing themselves in the language and culture, and shared that experience with our current Spanish class students. The recent graduates also encouraged students to look for opportunities to practice Spanish and get to know people and cultures.

Thank you to Mrs. Malejs for hosting our Rise and Shine Assembly on Monday for students in grades 3-5. The focus of this assembly was on how to build each other's "emotional bank accounts" and why it is important to build trust with one another. Congratulations to our students who were recognized for "Leading the Way" this week!

The Chenango Forks High School Technology Club is hosting a Maro Kart Tournament this Friday, May 2, from 5-8:30 p.m. Registration begins at 4:30 p.m. or sign-up in advance using this link: https://tinyurl.com/mpvv6mjn Students of all grade levels are welcome to participate! Game play will take place on a 12’ x 15’ screen in the HS Cafeteria. Participation in the tournament is free. Food will be available for purchase, with proceeds benefitting the Tech Club.

The CF After Prom Party is hosting a BINGO Fundraiser, Sunday, May 4 at 1 p.m. in the High School Cafeteria. $5 per board or 3 for $10. During spring break, Chenango Forks Senior and Broome-Tioga BOCES welding student Landen Ganoung competed at SkillsUSA in Syracuse, NY— and his outstanding work earned him a First-Place finish! Landen will now head to Georgia in June for the SkillsUSA National Championships! Congratulations Landen, on this incredible achievement!

Recently we recognized Chenango Forks Board of Education member Lynn Lockwood, for her six years of service on our school board! Thank you, Lynn for your dedication to our district!

The CFHS Costa Rica class departed Saturday morning for the trip to Costa Rica. They reached their destination on Sunday, where they will enjoy fun and educational experiences while they explore Costa Rica.

The CF French Club's first day in Montreal was wonderful! They saw AURA, had an amazing dinner at a steakhouse in Vieux Montréal, and took le métro to their hotel!

Our CFE first grade students celebrated the upcoming Earth Day in a special way—with a Book Swap! With the help of their families, students selected gently used books from home that they no longer read and were ready to share with a new reader. For every book they brought in, they received a “book buck” to spend at our book swap! Students had a blast shopping for “new-to-them” books, all while caring for our planet by passing on books they no longer read!

CFE students had an exciting surprise at their Rise and Shine Assembly this afternoon! Students have been working hard on their RAY (Reading All Year) logs, and today they earned a fun surprise for reaching their next goal of minutes spent reading. The students were thrilled when a very brave Mrs. Young had to kiss a pig! We are so proud of our students reading efforts this year- keep up the great work!
