This week students from Chenango Forks Middle and High school competed in the 15th Annual Southern Tier Robotics Competition held at SUNY Broome. The competition challenged students to create custom built robots capable of completing various “real” life tasks facing “real” life robots!
Students honed their mechanical engineering skills to create frames, drivetrains, and lifting mechanisms. Electrical engineering, coding, and computer science skills were integral to create the seamless interaction of sensors, microcontrollers, and electric motors.
All of the students worked very hard on their robots, and it showed in their performance and results with a winning 2nd Place Overall Competition for Both Middle and High School Teams!
Individual Accolades:
1st Place Large Swept Away: Hayden Hills
2nd Place Large Swept Away: Nick Applegate
3rd Place Large Swept Away: Skyler Dains
2nd Place Mega King of the Ring: Jett Beach
3rd Place Mega King of the Ring: Chris Samson
2nd place Lightweight King of the Ring: Sam Scofield Thalia Brennan
3rd place Lightweight King of the Ring: Thalia Brennan
3rd place Small Swept Away: Nate Schieve, Grayson Layton, and Jackson Wasecka
2nd place Autonomous Maze Solving: Brayden Panebianco and Aiden Cook
Congratulations to all of our student participants!
