Today our CFE Student Council members spent the morning picking up litter and proudly displaying 120 American flags around the CFE campus!
As they prepared for Memorial Day and Flag Day, students also learned about the significance of these important holidays and honoring those in our community who have served.

Our CFE first grade students celebrated the upcoming Earth Day in a special way—with a Book Swap! With the help of their families, students selected gently used books from home that they no longer read and were ready to share with a new reader. For every book they brought in, they received a “book buck” to spend at our book swap!
Students had a blast shopping for “new-to-them” books, all while caring for our planet by passing on books they no longer read!

CFE students had an exciting surprise at their Rise and Shine Assembly this afternoon! Students have been working hard on their RAY (Reading All Year) logs, and today they earned a fun surprise for reaching their next goal of minutes spent reading.
The students were thrilled when a very brave Mrs. Young had to kiss a pig!
We are so proud of our students reading efforts this year- keep up the great work!

Tiffany Wheelock, Manager of the Broome County Dog Shelter shared what it’s like to care for and help animals in need.
WBNG News anchor/reporter (and CF graduate!) Avery Copeland and photojournalist Thomas Medlarz gave students a behind-the-scenes look at the fast-paced world of news reporting!

Thank you to Mrs. Slater for hosting our Rise and Shine assembly for students in PreK-2nd grade. The focus of this assembly was on how to be a good friend. Mrs. Slater read the story "The Invisible Boy" and students shared out how the characters were good friends in the book.

This week, Mrs. Doolittle’s CFHS art students visited Mrs. Sickler's classroom at CFE for a special project. First-grade students had recently created drawings of their own unique monsters. To bring their creations to life, the high school art students transformed these drawings into ceramic versions of each creature.
During the visit, the ceramic pieces were presented to the first graders, who were very excited to see the final result! This was a fun and memorable experience for all of the students.
