CAREER DAY: In preparation for our Career Day on Monday between the Middle School and the High School, our Family and Consumer Science Class made soups for all of our vendors.! They made a Broccoli Cheddar (Panera Copycat), Buffalo Chicken, Beef Chili and Cheeseburger Soup!
SOLAR CHARGING BATTERIES: Yesterday, the Clean Energy and Battery class worked on charging batteries outside with solar energy! The students recorded some data, and based on their numbers we were able to from 50% state of charge to close to 100% before they had to take it all apart and move the equipment back inside. As the students were sitting and catching some rays, (we mean charging the battery), they decided that they wanted to form a company called Redneck Solar LLC.
CONGRATULATIONS: Our CFE team took home Second Place at BOCES Engineering Day today!

ENGINEERING DAY: Our CFE students spent the day at BT BOCES at Engineering Day!
ENGINEERING DAY: Students at our middle school visited BT BOCES today for Engineering Day! They had 2 hours to build their machine from a mystery box of items. They were judged on time duration the machine ran, reliability, getting a dart to launch and land in a cup, and variety of items used. I'll send a video as well once we have the results for the day. (Mrs. Hantsch says she is biased but believes the CF team had the most inventive Rube Goldberg machine, we agree!)

ART ALUM: Patrick McPhee, a CF Alum, visited the CF Watercolor and Acrylic painting classes to share his journey from being a CF student to becoming a successful, award-winning painter living his dream. In addition to demonstrating his skills, Pat returned during remedial to conduct a workshop, focusing on teaching rather than just demonstrating, and to answer additional questions from the students.
CF HONORS: Today we will be highlighting Veterans throughout the day that have a special connection to the Chenango Forks Central School District. We thank them, and every Veteran today who has served our county. Our first honoree is TSgt. Michelle Goddess.
