Making bûches de Noël in French classes has been a tradition for years at CF, and this year was no exception. A bûche de Noël is a rolled cake that is made to look like a yule log. Students in Madame Dimatos’ and Madame Ramsden’s French classes had the opportunity to make and to eat these cakes this week.
Students in Goody Roma’s English 11 classes got to experience Puritan plain style with some new headgear. In preparation for reading "The Crucible" by Arthur Miller, Ms. Roma’s students (with some help from Mrs. Ramsden) created Puritan-style bonnets and hats. Students wore the hats while reading the opening act of the play. Some students even took their headgear home to wear at Thanksgiving dinner!
The final project for the Spanish for the Professions class’s business and hospitality unit was to host a luncheon in Spanish for teachers and administrators. Students created invitations, menus, and scripts all in Spanish. The menu included jamón, gallo pinto, pico de gallo, patacones, and polvorones.

Nicole Sanders-Rinker of TechniQues Hair Design visited the CFHS Entrepreneurship class this week. She shared her journey into hair design - from navigating trade school to building a career she loves. She also gave students an inside look at what the job is really like, including running her own business right from her home.
She did a wonderful job speaking to the class and students walked away with some fun insights into the industry.

Chenango Forks High School is excited to have three student musicians accepted into Senior High Area All-State ensembles this year. They will perform with their groups at the Zone 3 Area All-State Festival at Ithaca College on Friday, Jan. 30, and Saturday, Jan. 31.

This morning, Chenango Forks High School seniors participated in SUNY Broome College Express Day. Representatives from SUNY Broome met with our students to share the many opportunities and pathways to success available at the college.
Students learned about the educational programs available and the career paths offered to them by choosing to pursue their college education with SUNY Broome. In addition, they explored the cost savings, transfer options, academic support services and extracurricular activities and athletics opportunities available.
Our seniors also had the chance to complete their SUNY Broome applications on the spot, fast-tracking their path to college acceptance!

The Chenango Forks High School Entrepreneurship class recently welcomed BJ Carnegie as a guest speaker. BJ shared his journey of starting and running his own construction company in New York City, giving students an inside look at both the challenges and successes of being a business owner in a fast-paced environment. He also shared some interesting stories about his job-site experiences in many different locations throughout the country.
He also spoke about his decision to leave NYC for Binghamton and join Andrew Mancini Associates, offering valuable insight into the work he is now doing.

This week, Brian Sirgany, owner of Sirgany Eye Care in Cortland and a 1993 graduate of Chenango Forks visited our high school entrepreneurship class. He talked with students about his journey from being a student at CF to being a business owner and living out his dream. He discussed the decisions made along the way and talked about his definition of success and how success looks different for everyone.

On Friday, Oct. 17, Chenango Forks alum Jacob Kumpon, co-founder of KLAW Industries, visited our high school entrepreneurship class to share how he developed his business idea and launched it right here in Binghamton with support from the Kauffman Business Incubator.
Students were highly engaged as he shared insights into entrepreneurship and the development of their company's product, Pantheon.
