WARNING, FAKE BLOOD: Chenango Forks alumna Jenna Wolf stopped by our Art Department this week to introduce students to exciting careers in Special Effects (SFX) makeup by demonstrating realistic “cuts,” “bruises,” and “frostbite” techniques!
After graduating from CF, Jenna earned her NYS Cosmetology license and spent 15 years as a hairstylist. Today, she brings her expertise to BT BOCES, where she teaches the same skills she once studied.
The class kicked off the year by exploring several “horror” films across various subgenres, analyzing how violence is portrayed and why we react the way we do. With Jenna’s insights, students now understand how knowing the creative process behind SFX can transform our viewing experience.
ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Jili O'Hern has been a driving force on our team with her infectious energy, outstanding crowd engagement, and consistent leadership throughout the season. Recently, she took the initiative to organize team gatherings before competitions to boost morale and encouraged her teammates to exchange positive notes, fostering a spirit of unity and support. Congratulations, Jili!

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Ethan Vaseleck is coming off two impressive back-to-back top-15 finishes last week, setting personal records (PRs) at both events. He clocked a 19:23 at the Jack Gariepy Invitational, followed by a 7th place finish at the Tornado 5000, where he shaved 20 seconds off his time with a new PR of 19:03. In addition to his cross-country success, Ethan also excels in basketball and track & field. Congratulations, Ethan!
RISE AND SHINE: Thank you to Mr. Tellerday for hosting our Rise and Shine Assembly for our students in grades PreK-2 today. The focus of this assembly was reminding our students that we are all welcome and special in our own ways and that it is important to celebrate our differences and be kind to each other. SHOE DONATIONS: The Chenango Forks Middle School Student Council is collecting gently used shoes to support hurricane victims in Florida. Your donations can help families in need rebuild their lives. Middle School Students can drop shoes off in the SAA next to the nurse's office. Members of the public can drop off at the High School Visitor's Entrance!
NEW ENERGY LAB VISIT: NY-BEST, Southern Tier 8, Binghamton University, Koffman Incubator, HiT Nano, and RIT recently visited the BT-BOCES Clean Energy & Battery Storage program at our high school. They explored our innovative curriculum and cutting-edge technologies that are helping shape the future of sustainable energy. We’re proud to be at the forefront of this growing industry and to inspire the next generation of clean energy leaders!
